With an abundant supply of both entry-level and experienced laborers, CaliBaja offers a diverse employment base that is highly productive. Just over 400,000 are currently employed in the technology/ industrial sectors.

CaliBaja is comprised of diverse federal, state and local jurisdictions that includes an international border. What they all have in common is a dedication to ensuring our bi-national region has an educated, well-trained workforce.

CaliBaja has over 90 colleges and universities and over 80 research institutes. San Diego is well known for its world class research centers such as Scripps Research Institute and the Salk Institute; its major research universities that include the University of California at San Diego (UCSD) and San Diego State University (SDSU), as well as other public and private universities that include CSU San Marcos, University of San Diego (USD), National University and Point Loma Nazarene University (PLNU). Baja California has two state wide university systems, UABC and CETYS, and several national research centers, such as CICESE, COLEF and CITEDI.

Both the states of California and Baja are committed to ensuring employers have the skilled workforce companies need to compete. Customized training is available throughout CaliBaja to meet changing workforce needs.
